It’s from an era long gone. But the skills needed in the garden haven’t fundamentally changed. We have a few mechanised tools to help us today, for example we can use a shredder to prepare material for the compost, but making a compost heap hasn’t changed much. Plants decompose in much the same way as they did during 1939-45 and indeed since time began.

So these videos are worth watching …. especially as living costs soar today, and austerity bites again.
