There are plenty of additional activities they can do

Take weekly walks and look for the flowers.

Encourage the children to record what they saw, where and on what date.

Note which plants are flowering each month. Some will flower over more than one month. Which ones flower for longest.

Draw and paint the flowers. They can be made into birthday and other cards.

Watch the flowers to see if any insects land on them.
Which ones attract butterflies?
Which ones attract bees?
Do any attract both?

Make a daisy chain.
