Expanding My What To Sow Each Month Articles Here Is A List Of Seasonal Fruit & Veg in June. Bear In Mind Locality & Weather Will Affect Availability.

My What To Sow In June list is long. But what fruit and veg can we harvest in June. Here is a list of the most obvious fruit and veg available in my part of the UK. Greenhouses, polytunnels and fleece will advance the season as did walled gardens in times past!

Scroll pass the scrumptious images to read the list.

  • Asparagus
  • Beetroot
  • Blackcurrants
  • Broad Beans
  • Broccoli
  • Chickweed
  • Claytonia (Miner’s Lettuce)
  • Crosnes (Chinese Artichokes) – Early Harvest
  • Coriander
  • Courgettes
  • Cucumber
  • Dandelion (leaves and flowers)
  • Early Raspberries
  • Early Turnips
  • Fiddleheads (Ostrich Fern Shoots)
  • Figs
  • French Beans
  • Good King Henry
  • Gooseberries
  • Ground Elder (young leaves)
  • Hops
  • Huauzontle
  • Kohlrabi
  • Lambs Lettuce (Mâche)
  • Land Cress
  • Lettuce
  • Lovage (leaves)
  • Loganberries
  • Marrows
  • New Potatoes
  • Peas
  • Radish (including mooli)
  • Raspberries
  • Rhubarb
  • Rocket
  • Rosehips (young shoots and leaves)
  • Runner Beans
  • Samphire
  • Scorzonera (Black Salsify) – Young Leaves
  • Sea Beet (wild spinach)
  • Sorrel
  • Spinach
  • Spring onions
  • Strawberries
  • Summer Squash
  • Swiss Chard
  • Wasabi (leaves and stems)
  • Watercress
  • Wild Garlic (leaves and flowers)

Important Considerations:

  • Wild Edibles: When foraging for wild edibles like chickweed, dandelion, alexanders, ground elder, sea beet, and wild garlic, ensure proper identification and avoid areas with potential contamination.
  • Wasabi: True wasabi is difficult to grow outside of specific Japanese conditions. What is often sold as “wasabi” is horseradish with green colouring. If you have access to a true wasabi plant, the leaves and stems can be used.
  • Availability: The availability of some of the more unusual cultivated crops will depend on home growing, specialty growers and farmers’ markets.
