The Japanese Garden Style Is Amongst My Favourites Garden Style. I Love Its Elegance And Simplicity. In This Article I Look At Parc Oriental de Maulévrier Near Cholet In France.

Parc Oriental de Maulrevier is just south of the Loire. Built in 1899 and renovated in 1987 it extends to 25 hectare

Parc Oriental is well positioned on the route south from Cherbourg, via the Loire Valley, to the Pyrenees and Spain. So it’s a garden I frequently visit.

Totalling 29 hectares, based around a lake, it’s more Parc than garden. But clearly a Japanese style Parc. The Parc was acquired by the municipality in 1976 , but was built in there grounds of the Chateau Colbert between 1899-1913. Under the municipality the Parc has undergone significant restoration with work commencing in 1987.

Trying to describe such garden is almost impossible. It’s garden design beyond words. So below I include a contermplative video I made many years ago (for a totally different purpose so bear with me).

And if the Japanese Style intrigues or interests you I’ve included a new section in The Gardening Guy Bookshop on Japanese Gardens & Plants.
