About Miraculous Abundance. I’m usually reluctant to review gardening and horticulture books from other countries because the conditions in other places are not the same as ours. The climate, the plants, the pests and diseases, all are different. So you might winder why I reviewed this book. Simple, the concepts they write about are transferable. They are the concepts that surround plants, the soil and our need to work with nature. And that is universal.

That basic idea transcended my normal avoidance of books from far away. But I have to say it took me a while to settle into this book, especially as it started with fishing in the Amazon, then led on to a peripatetic life on a yacht as the authors sailed the seas. I wondered where the gardens were! In fact I wondered if wed ever land on dry land.

But, no fear, by page 51 we were discovering permaculture.

Thereafter the book introduced me to various exponents of gardening systems that ranged from biodynamics to biointensive farming and beyond.

Miraculous Abundance – The Whole Story

Miraculous Abundance is a book by Perrine and Charles Hervé-Gruyer that tells the story of how they created a successful farm on just one quarter acre of land. The book is full of practical advice on how to grow food using sustainable methods, and it also provides a glimpse into the lives of the Hervé-Gruyers and their family. The book begins with the Hervé-Gruyers describing how they came to start their farm. They were both working in the corporate world when they decided to make a change and start living a more sustainable lifestyle. They bought a small piece of land and started growing their own food. At first, they had a lot of challenges, but they slowly learned how to create a successful farm.

The Hervé-Gruyers then go on to describe the different methods that they use to grow food. They use a variety of techniques, including composting, crop rotation, and natural pest control. They also raise animals on their farm, which provides them with meat, eggs, and milk.

In addition to providing practical advice on how to grow food, the Hervé-Gruyers also share their thoughts on the importance of sustainable agriculture. They believe that it is essential for us to learn how to grow our own food in order to live a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. They also believe that we need to support local farmers and to eat food that is produced in a way that protects the environment.

The People Behind The Miraculous Abundance Concept

People build gardens. People with ideas they are prepared to share. And so far I’ve not mentioned what really turned me onto this book. You see it is more than the progress of a French family. Behind it are a group of great thinkers. People that have thought about gardening and microfarming and have experimented. People such as Sepp Holzer, Eliot Coleman , Martin Crawford, Jean-Martin Fortier, John Jeavons, Alan Chadwick et al.

Some of the names that influenced the Miraculous Abundance are lost in history. For example thousands of market gardeners, over several centuries, in Paris developed the traditional French market garden techniques that led the way forward to greater abundance. These are the ideas that are coming back today and being found to be so fruitful.

I recommend Miraculous Abundance as a thought provoking book that had me reading way into the small hours.
