Becoming An Amazon Bestseller sounds great. What is the truth?
Amazon stocks many millions of books worldwide. To become an Amazon Bestseller you have to become the bestseller in an Amazon category and that status might only last a few days before another book sells more than you. It is a precarious position in pole position and only authors such as JK Rowlings stay at the top for long.
A little known fact about my Amazon book experiences is that in my second career, as a Marketing Consultant, I wrote several books and was once category best seller in eight European countries at once AND in Japan!
I’ll let you into my Japanese secret. You don’t need to sell many books in Japan to get to the top of Amazon when the category is for marketing books written in English. :-). I have more fingers than the number of sales necessary!
